Okay, so starting back at the NASCAR Banking 500, I feel as though my intrest in Nascar has declined.  I am very afraid that I am losing my favorite sport.

I used to write NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series etc... all over my school books, now I don't.  I used to think about NASCAR atleast 75% of the day, just day dreaming about it, now I just focus.  I used to be excited for the next race every day of the week, now its just Saturday and Sunday.

This is such a sickening feeling, and I don't know what it is.

I LOVE NASCAR, there is no doubt about it, but I just am beginning to have bad thoughts, those such as "just left turns." mainly because I am centered around it when I talk about Nascar at school.

I know Nascar is always going to be a part of me, but I just cannot seem to deal, or be calm in this situation that I am in.  How can I stop it.  I don't want my mind to talk myself out of liking NASCAR, I don't know how I could live without Nascar, or even function correctly.

I know that these forums aren't for people with life problems, but I just need some help.  Thanks.

I didnt even talk about it at all in High School. 75% of my friends didnt understand it so they were ignorant to the whole thing.

You could always use the extra time to focus on your school work and/or rather than writing nascar all over your books, open em up and read.

Your kidding me right?  This is a major problem?  Take the others advice and use the extra time constructively.  I didnt think about NASCAR in high school.  My excitement for the sport wouldnt come on until Friday when I would come home from school and watch qualifying.  I never once let NASCAR interfer with the more important things in life, such as getting an education.  Like Bob said, if this is the one major problem you have in life, kuddos.

Im not gonna give any major life advice to you because thats not my place. So Ill just speak about what sounds like a lack of excitement about racing for you. Id say watch the World of Outlaws race on Saturday night that ought to get you excited to watch some more racing.

I crushed my finger off and did severe nerve damage to the left side of my body then went through a year long workers comp battle in court when I wasnt paid and my wife and I didnt have enough money to eat, we paid for a loaf of bread and peanut butter with pennies and then we found out she was pregnant so i stopped eating breakfast and lunch every day so she could have more food. Then our car's starter went out and we walked everywhere...then things turned around and life is spectacular and we have a beautiful healthy daughter, a beautiful home, all the things we could ever want, so just remember life will get worse before it gets better. Open those books up though bro, I have a college degree now and its practically gold in a picture frame on my wall, no limit to what you can do with one of those.

Joe I hope all this, especially Mark's story, makes you see your decline in interest in NASCAR is not a life problem.  Those books you are writing all over will.  You may not think so right now, but they will.  You know people's tastes change all the time.  Do I like this sport as much as I did 5 10 years ago.  I am going to have to tell you, probably not.  Do I concider not liking NASCAR as much as I used to a life problem.  Not a chance.  I have gotten busier over those past ten years so I dont think about it as much.  Lets face it, NASCAR is not doing a whole lot to keep people interested in the sport, an example being the Amp Energy 500.  NASCAR is not going to win over people by telling the drivers not to do what they do best.  Man, you just cant this affect your life.  Mark is the one that truly had a lot to deal with here and should be commended for coming through it all.  Besides, if your thinking about NASCAR 75 percent of the time, what in the heck else is there to do?  Not much if you ask me.
